At the end of the visit, given that the condition is under control and not likely to change, we agreed to drop routine visits to this provider with the option to re-engage if the condition worsens. My care provider always takes time to answer any questions I might have. She qualifies her answers to be sure that I have understood what she is telling me. If she has changed a medication she asks how it is working and decides whether to continue use of that medication or try a new one. We folllow up with a report on the medicine's efficacy in treating my condition and together we decide what to decide to do. If we are trying a new alternative, she might ask me to give the new treatment a fair amount of time to determine whether to see If It is having any Improvement In my condition.
