Dr. Guy grew up in North Carolina and was a football player at Wake Forest University. He earned his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency and fellowship at Penn Med. He specializes in robotic heart surgery, specifically robotic mitral valve repairs.
After his training, Dr. Guy went on to work at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and eventually served three tours as an active-duty U.S. Army trauma surgeon — twice in Afghanistan and once in Iraq. He received a Bronze Star Medal and many other combat awards during his service.
He is an award-winning physician, having been named a “Top Doc” by Philadelphia magazine, New York Magazine, and U.S. News & World Report.

Saw Dr. Guy regarding possible heart surgery. Dr. Guy explained the problem, ways to solve it, yet took dementia issue into consideration before giving his decision to avoid surgery for now. Excellent consultation!

Best environment I have ever been in to see a doctor. Everyone one was very caring and treated us so kind. I felt as if I had always known them. Dr Guy and his team were exceptional in their care and expertise in the heart surgery field! My wife and I were very pleased with Dr Guy and his staff before and after surgery. Dr. Guy initially saw an aneurism from a calcium scan I had done. After he started surgery he noticed the entire aorta was diseased and replaced the whole aorta. I am truly grateful and blessed to have found such an amazing heart surgeon and would definitely recommend him to anyone I know!
